Advantages of Moving DocCentral to UI3
|
In the Last Issue of IntegWare Advantage we profiled
DocuManagement Central in the Products section. There have been some
exciting developments since then. Many of you already have UI3 in
other parts of your Value Chain Portfolio. Now you can take
the next step with DC. Heres the lowdown Some advantages of moving
DC to UI3:
- DC will have the same look and feel as the rest of the value
chain portfolio applications. This will reduce learning curve
and increase customer acceptance.
- Standard functionality from the other VCP applications will
be able to be leveraged for DC. For example the UI3 version of
DC will add the ability to use routes for routing documents through
an add hoc process flows.
- UI3 will increase the interoperability between the applications.
For instance a DC object will be able to be used in an ECO in
Engineering Central.
- Increase in configurations capability and decrease in customization.
UI3 allows implementers to configure end user screens using core
eMatrix objects instead of customizing JSPs.
- UI3 has increased supportability because there is less customization,
and moving forward to newer versions is easier because customized
JSPs pages dont have to be revalidated.
- With UI3 users can specify their own home page that is shown
by default when they login. This can be an interface from any
UI3 application they have access to.
- Advanced Pagination control allows the web server to handle
large result sets in a scalable and user-friendly fashion.
- UI3 gives users the ability to modify access to individual objects
impromptu.
- UI3 increases usability by only showing the user buttons that
they have access for. For example if a user cannot create objects,
the create button will not be displayed. Users will not be distracted
by buttons they dont have permission to use.
